Sequel's are what sequels are.

It's a shame that sequels really don't capture thematic of the original most of the time. Yes there are exceptions like major franchises like The Avengers, Star Trek and Harry Potter. But the smaller non franchise ones see to miss the mark most of the time.

Enter Jumanji - The Next Level. Being a huge fan of the very original with Robin Williams and the first of the reboot Jumanji - Welcome To The Jungle I was eager to see this one.
Sadly to report though it had it's goof moments if really didn't go to the next level. It really fell flat. The Danny Devito and Danny Glover characters though cute at first definitely pulled the vibe down to the bottom level. When I find I am reaching for the remote to forward past parts - then it's pretty much game over.
The best part is in the end credits where they are setting it up for a follow up movie. Hopefully they will stick to the original characters and give it the magic back.
Definitely a Redbox rental.
