Sense and sensibility - Both missing with some people.

Today was my out and about day. Going to the store, going to the bank (ATM) and getting gas for the Jeep. I figured I have to touch 4 separate things so I took 4 gloves with me.

A glove for the outside handle of the store door. A glove for one ATM, another for the second ATM and one for the gas pump.
ATM's and gas pumps are touched by countless hands per day. Under normal circumstances they are a germ fest. Now, who knows.
So I pull up at the pump. Put on a glove, get out of the Jeep, leave the door cracked so I can get back in without a glove on. Pay and pump gay with the gloved hand.
Finish pumping as, remove the glove and dispose of it in the trash can. I get back in the Jeep and as I start to pull away. I look at the other 6 or 7 people pumping gas.

Not one of them has a glove or any protection on. Now I am cautious but not crazy over the top type of cautious but come on folks. I don't know why but astounded me seeing this. They touch the keyboards, screens, the pump handle then get back in their car and touch the steering wheel and who knows what else.
With this week supposedly being the apex of it, I am just astounded that people are so carefree about it. Natural selection at it's best. Call me old, call me sill, call me cautious.
