Do I miss it?

Someone asked me the other day if I missed flying? I had to honestly answer yes and no.
What I miss is the travel to exotic places I thought I would never ever see in my lifetime. Places like Japan, Egypt, Africa, Europe and Eastern Europe. What I also miss is the camaraderie that crews have. That special bond of flying together and being away from home at times more than half way around the world.

I look back at some of the photo's I have of my time with Delta and think how lucky I was to be able to visit and see so many incredible places and get to know so many wonderful crew members.
What I don't miss is the how modern air travel has devolved into a nightmare at times for the crew members. Entitled passengers, The jerks in crew scheduling that don't care if you aren't getting the required rest or working you into your off days. The so called supervisors at JFK. What's the old expression? If you can't do teach. If you can't teach become and in-flight supervisor!
All in all despite the issues of constant flying, it was over all a great experience. I did enjoy it. But it was time to move on a nd start a new chapter. Thus the scuba diving.
